A: An effervescent and soothing latte made with a house-made orange, cinnamon, and clove syrup blended with a soothing and rich bakers chocolate to make a soothing and rich cup of orange chocolately goodness. That’s soothing.
Q: What charity are you choosing to donate proceeds of your drink to this month and why?
A: 10% of the proceeds will be going to the Orange County Rape Crisis Center. I have been fortunate enough to know several of the people who work there, and I am very appreciative of the work they do and what they do for the community. They’re a wonderful organization, and a great place for resources if you or anyone you know could use them.
Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself?
A: I have participated in Horse Bowl. Multiple years. I have never won horse bowl
Q: What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?
A: Whatever is leftover the next day. I like making a frankenstein-esque sandwich with whatever will fit on the bread. It’s normally delicious.
Q: Cats or dogs
A: I like telling my cat I’m a dog person
Q: Beach or Mountains
A: I like mountainous beaches and beachy mountains
Q: What’s your favorite drink to order in cafes right now?
A: Espresso over ice. It’s a great way to tell the quality of espresso at an unknown coffee shop, it’s refreshing, and it makes the barista sweat
Q: What books are you reading right now?
A: I’m currently switching between Books of Blood by Clive Barker, Brief Answers to Big Questions by Stephen Hawking, and Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne
Q: Favorite Alt Milk
A: Cow’s milk for the win. I also just found out that camel’s milk is a thing, so I might have to go with Camel’s Milk
Q: Go-to latte art
A: An impressionistic flower/fern/feather. Good for all occasions
Q: Favorite herbal tea
A: Coffee. Or a nice lemon mint
Q: Favorite Carrboro coffee roasters coffee?
A: I love our coffees that are honey-processed, I think it makes for a particularly delicious and smooth cup of coffee and has reinvigorated my fondness for black coffee. I also really enjoy Ignacio “Nacho” Gutierez’s El Barrancon because it’s tasty and I can tell people, “No, it’s NACHO coffee” and then giggle. Also, the Moonset Dwarf Geisha is amazing. I mean, come on, it’s grown by moonlight, how can it not be magical.
